Updates from Iranian cinema: New films ready for screening

Iranian cinema fans can expect exciting new releases as several highly anticipated films are to premiere soon.

Iranian cinema enthusiasts have much to look forward to as several highly anticipated films gear up for release across the country.

First on the list is ‘Don't Be Embarrassed 2’, with the subtitle ‘Separation of Qanbar from Sanam’, directed by Reza Maqsoudi and produced by Amir Parveen Hosseini.

Following the success of its predecessor, ‘Don't Be Embarrassed 1’, the sequel is also anticipated to attract audiences with its beloved characters.

Starring Shabnam Moqaddami and Ahmad Mehranfar in the leading roles, the movie also features Bahareh Kian-Afshar, Behrang Alavi, Mohammad Motazedi, Saeed Amir Soleimani and Majid Shahriyari.

‘Don't Be Embarrassed 2’ is set to hit silver screens nationwide soon, offering audiences a fresh and entertaining cinematic experience.

Adding to the lineup is the comedy film ‘Year of the Cat’ directed by Mostafa Taqizadeh and produced by Saeed Khani.

With its recent poster designed by Mohammad Rouholamin, the film has generated significant buzz among moviegoers.

The movie features an ensemble cast, including Bahram Afshari, Sara Bahrami, Houman Barqnavard, Shabnam Qorbani, Morteza Taqizadeh, Noushin Tabrizi, Reza Rashidpour, Ali Owji and Hamid Masouminejad.

The film's release began on April 11, 2024 with screenings scheduled in cinemas across the country.

Lastly, ‘Seventy Thirty’, a social comedy by Iranian actor Bahram Afshari in his directorial debut, has hit cinemas during the Eid al-Fitr holidays.

Produced by Seyyed Ebrahim Amerian, the film boasts a talented cast, including Afshari, Houtan Shakiba, Elaheh Hessari, Hossein Pakdel, Mehdi Hosseininia, Siavash Tahmoures, and Nahid Moslemi.
